Any and all advertisements you might see on this website are 100% uncompensated recommendations. I like Sinupret because it looks clean, is well-tested and I think it works. I recommend Erbaorganics because they're very clear about the percentage of organic ingredients in each of their products. At one time, I received some free samples from these two companies. I no longer do. If you buy my DVD, I think I get about fifty cents. Unless you choose to buy thousands and thousands of my books, I'll never see one penny in royalties. Jay

Body Temperature and Skin Color
Q. Does a newborn baby's skin get red and mottled looking when she is cold?

A. Usually the skin is pale and mottled because a cold baby constricts blood vessels to the skin to decrease blood flow and decrease heat exchange between the 98ish degree body and the 70 degree air. Conversely, babies with fevers dilate those same blood vessels to increase heat exchange. Their skin can feel really hot. Hands and feet can feel strangely cold because blood pressure is preserved by constricting the vessels going to the extremities.
