Any and all advertisements you might see on this website are 100% uncompensated recommendations. I like Sinupret because it looks clean, is well-tested and I think it works. I recommend Erbaorganics because they're very clear about the percentage of organic ingredients in each of their products. At one time, I received some free samples from these two companies. I no longer do. If you buy my DVD, I think I get about fifty cents. Unless you choose to buy thousands and thousands of my books, I'll never see one penny in royalties. Jay

My son was just diagnosed as having childhood onset diabetes. There's never been any diabetes in our family. How can this happen?

Every day there is more evidence that milk in a child's diet may increase the incidence of diabetes. About 20 percent of children carry a gene that may predispose them to diabetes. If those children are fed cow's milk, it may actually accelerate the tendency to develop the disease. While still debated by some experts, this is a sound theory based on solid scientific fact.

When a child has diabetes or pre-diabetic tendencies, we know that an optimal diet helps.

When a pregnant woman is diagnosed with borderline gestational diabetes, the first thing her doctor will do, before prescribing any medication, is to change her diet. Like heart disease and hardening of the arteries, adult onset diabetes can have its beginnings in childhood, even though it may not manifest until 50, 60, or even 70 years later. It is a disease of abuse. A good diet in childhood sets the stage for optimal pancreatic function throughout life.
